Why a legacy?

A legacy donation is one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts you can give.

The financial pressures we all face mean that we are often constrained from giving as much as we would like during our lifetime. Choosing to leave a legacy can be an appropriate, tax-efficient and straightforward solution.

If you have valued and continue to enjoy your association with the College, whether as a former student, parent, grandparent, or friend please consider leaving a bequest in your will.

There are many reasons that benefactors choose to make a donation in this way;

• to express gratitude for the education they received
• to make a difference for future generations who may not otherwise have the opportunity of a private education
• to remember or honour a loved one.

Many who are unable to give as much as they would like in their lifetime find a legacy gift can be an attractive alternative.

Legacy gifts may be made in the form of cash, shares, property or belongings and as The Prior Foundation is a registered charity, all gifts reduce, and are often exempt from inheritance tax if you are a UK taxpayer.
